This is literally the easiest recipe ever! Homemade croutons are SO worth the time and are a great use for that fancy loaf of bread that you bought, ate half of, and then it got as hard as a rock. You can use pretty much any kind of bread you want and any seasoning combination that strikes your fancy. This was our favorite combination since it's just 4 ingredients and things we always have on hand.
If you have a super stale loaf of bread I recommend following the instructions in this video to make it almost as good as new!
INGREDIENTS:
1 loaf of stale bread, cut into 1 inch cubes (approximately 4 cups of cubed bread)
2 Tbs extra virgin olive oil
Dash of garlic powder
1 Tbs of grated parmesan cheeses
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400F.
Cube the bread into approximately 1 inch cubes and place into a large bowl.
Add the oil and seasonings to the bowl and toss to coat.
Once things are well incorporated place bread cubes onto a baking sheet.
Put the baking sheet into your preheated 400F oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from oven and let cool before use (and try not to eat them right off the tray lol).
Store in an airtight container on the countertop for up to a week.
